Sea Life Projects and FREE, Minimal Prep Pre-K through 5th Grade Activities

Here, as promised, are the sea life projects we've done!

The Fish
Materials:
  • Blue or black sheet of construction paper
  • Bright construction paper
  • Google eye
  • Glitter, if you hate yourself and want to be shiny for the rest of your life.
Instructions:
  • Draw a fish on bright construction paper, but don't cut it out. Decorate it.
  • Cut the decorated fish out, including a piece for the fin, then glue it to the dark construction paper. Decorate some more and use plenty of glitter, so it can haunt you for the rest of your life.
  • Glue fin back on.
  • This is a great opportunity to teach kiddos about fish! You can observe the fish if you have some, or find a few videos on YouTube!

The Squid
Materials:
  • Toilet paper roll
  • Paint
  • Hole Puncher
  • Yarn
  • Glitter
  • Foam, construction paper, or even an envelope.
  • Googley eyes
Instructions:
  • Use the hole punch to make little holes on one side of the toilet paper roll.
  • Paint the toilet paper roll
  • Add glitter- only if you want to see it everywhere
  • Cut pieces of yarn to tie into the bottom holes.
  • Cut a trianglish shape. If using an old envelope, you can paint it to add some color!

I ended up moving the eyes further up because I thought it just looked weird too far down.

The Seahorse
Materials:
  • An old frozen pizza box, or some sort of cardboard box
  • Paint
  • Scissors
  • Googley eyes
  • And glitter, yet again, in order to atone for whatever sins you may have committed
Instructions:
  • Trace a vague seahorse shape on the pizza box
  • Paint and add any glitter
  • Cut out
